The wild animals in this video leave no doubts as to how the term “party animal” came about. After feasting on rotting marula fruit they start staggering home with their bellies full, and hilarity ensues.
According to the narrator, the rotting fruit ferments in the animals’ stomachs. This produces the same effect as the fermented beverages that we humans so often consume. That’s why some of the scenes in this video resemble things you may have seen after your last trip to the bar.
I’m not a big fan of rotten fruit, but these guys look like they would be lots of fun to party with. Except maybe the ones with the pointy horns. I’ll stick to watching them on video.
