I’ve never tried snowboarding. Like I’ve never tried skiing, or any winter sports apart from from sledging when I was a kid. And every video I see of people crashing in the snow makes me less likely to ever try these things.

This crash isn’t actually all that bad. It’s not like the guy ended up flying hundreds of feet through the air, landed on his head, and kept rolling down the mountainside like a rag doll. But still.

After a short slide downhill, the guy takes off from a small, and poorly-built, ramp. His aim is clearly to launch well over the short fence that’s sitting just in front of the ramp. Unfortunately, that plan doesn’t quite work.

Instead, the guy slams into the fence, hitting the only obstacle for miles around. Unlucky or just plain stupid? I’d go for the latter, because the simple way of avoiding the fence would have been to not bother building the ramp in the first place.
