I don’t think I’ve seen such an ingenious and accurate spoof of a music track and video as this. Forget Jay-Z and Alica Keys – they have nothing on Darth Vader and Princess Leia from Star Wars.

Empire State Of Mind is a brilliant song; catchy, soulful, lyrical. But Galactic Empire State Of Mind is even better, with all the same elements and many more besides.

We get to see Darth Vader rapping about his Death Star, the Rebel Alliance, Boba Fett, and the Ewoks. In fact, he tells the full story of the Original Trilogy, with some help from Princess Leia for the choruses, obviously.

I can only assume that College Humor, which made the video, got permission from George Lucas to do this cover version, especially as there is footage of the Star Wars films playing in the background. If they didn’t then this could cost them a few dollars in court.
