With the increasing cost of gas (my God, it’s nearly $4 now), car owners are looking for any method of saving money. For some of us, that means getting a hybrid car. But for Christina here, that means using vegetable oil.

Crazy? Well, not as crazy as 10 cents a gallon.

Fed up with “the system” not doing anything about the gas crisis, Christina Wu took it upon herself to buy a 1981 diesel Mercedes modified to run off vegetable oil. Rather than filling up at a pump, she goes to the grocery store.

However, I’m a bit concerned about the actual MPG of the car. Nowhere during the video does she say how it compares to regular gas. As a former 1981 Mercedes owner myself, I know that that type of car isn’t the quietest of cars.

But seriously folks, 10 cents a gallon?! Really, “you can’t beat it.”
