Rockstar looks to have done it again, delivering another slice of gaming heaven with Grand Theft Auto 5. Or is it too early to make such a statement after the first official trailer hits the Web?

It’s been three long years since GTA IV was released. OK, we’ve had Red Dead Redemption since then, a game which I actually enjoyed more than the latest in the Grand Theft Auto series, but still.

This trailer suggests much about what we can expect from Grand Theft Auto 5, with the setting of San Andreas – essentially Los Angeles in all but name – bringing the series back to the scene of its greatest triumph to date.

Rockstar hasn’t yet revealed when GTA V will be released, but Summer 2012 would seem to be a good bet. If it hasn’t arrived by next Christmas then I’ll be very surprised. And very disappointed as well.
