Halo: Reach Video Trailer | Halo Prequel Premieres During Spike Video Game Awards

The Halo series of video games is one of the biggest, most popular, and best around. The first two games virtually sold the original Xbox, and Halo 3 and its spin-offs have done exceedingly well on the Xbox 360.

And now comes a new game in the series. Halo: Reach was announced in the summer but has only now come made its debut. This is the first trailer, which was premiered during the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards.

Halo: Reach is a prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, being set during Halo: The Fall of Reach and the beginning of Halo: First Strike. These are two of the official novels which expand the story from the games.

The trailer doesn’t show much, and isn’t comprised of gameplay footage. However, what it does show is enough to get me excited at the prospect of playing the game when it’s released on the Xbox 360 late in 2010.

And as Halo: Reach is the last Halo game being developed by Bungie, let’s hope this chapter in the series goes out on a high.
