Henry Lee Summer – I Wish I Had A Girl Video | Now Drugs Possession, Resisting Arrest

Henry Lee Summer (real name Henry Lee Swartz) spent the 1980s as a pop star, famous for his Top 20 hit, I Wish I Had A Girl, which you can see him performing live in the video above. Now? He’s having a little trouble with the law.

Summer was pulled over the police over a simple driving offense. Stupidly, he then allegedly threw a package out of the window, which was later found to be methamphetamine. But the fun didn’t end there.

Even more stupidly, he then tried to avoid getting cuffed by pulling his hands away at the last minute. Police officers claim he only submitted after they had sprayed him in the face with pepper spray. So he’s been charged with drugs possession, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice.

Personally, I’ve never even heard of the guy, but maybe I’m too young to do so. But watching the video above makes me wonder how this track ever did well – Summer looks a state, the song is terrible, and what the hell is wrong with the backing singer?
