This BBC Horizon documentary contains a few things to keep in mind the next time you’re at a bar, shopping for shoes, at a job interview, or even gambling.
At first, it seemed ridiculous to me to use mathematics to get a girl’s number at a bar. But in reality, even when me make quick decisions our brains produce an answer based on a history of experience. So, while making a subjective formula for everything in life would be almost impossible to do, it would be the best way to weigh scenarios.
For me the most shocking aspect of this video is the fact that people use temperature to judge their impressions of others. I guess if you wanted to be a good scam artist you would give out free coffee so people would trust you.
