Watching this takes me back. Who would have thought that Hugh Laurie would have gone on to be a huge star in the U.S. thanks to a starring role in House, and Stephen Fry would have gone on to be famous everywhere for, well, everything.

This video is a clip from A Bit Of Fry and Laurie, a BBC sketch show from the early 1990s. It shows Hugh Laurie interviewing Michael Jackson. A very tall, lanky, white, and posh Michael Jackson. No really.

OK, so it’s actually Stephen Fry and the gag is that Fry is almost the complete opposite of Michael Jackson but still tries to pass himself off as him regardless. Not by mimicking him but by just being himself.

A few YouTube commenters don’t seem to get this, with one even stating the bleeding obvious, “That isn’t Michael Jackson… Doesn’t even look close…” and missing the point completely. I guess us Brits do have a strange sense of humor.
