Last week saw Comic Relief take place in the UK. This charity effort which attempts to put the fun back in to fund raising saw hordes of celebrities and non-celebrities give up their time and creative efforts in order to raise money for those less well-off out there.
One of the highlights of the show was James Corden giving a rousing team talk to the England football team. He hadn’t taken over as manager or anything, he was merely the plumber looking for somewhere to take a piss.
What we get to see is Corden’s Smithy character take a pop at a few of the England footballers in turn. He mocks Peter Crouch’s robot, David James hair experiments, and John Terry crying after missing a penalty.
Corden has got a lot of confidence and clearly big balls to go with it. But he gets away with it by being cheeky and also taking the piss out of himself along with everyone else.
A brilliantly funny sketch which helped raise lots of money for a good cause. A perfect combination.
