Jane Russell, Hollywood actress and renowned beauty (she was the brunette bombshell alongside the blond Marilyn Monroe) has died in California of respiratory failure at the age of 89.

This video clip shows Jane Russell singing and performing during Son of Paleface, a 1952 western comedy also starring Bob Hope and Roy Rogers.

To be honest I could have chosen one of hundreds of clips of Jane Russell, but how do you pick just one which sums up the life of someone who had such a long-lasting and successful career?

Russell, who was born in 1921, was discovered by Howard Hughes and went onto be a huge star in the 1940s and 50s. She will be remembered for her beauty, her acting, and her singing. Which isn’t a bad legacy to leave this world with.
