Actress Jessica Biel admits that she doesn’t want her son Silas to follow in dad Justin Timberlake’s musical footsteps. While Biel said her comments to news.com.au were “sort of a joke,” she says she doesn’t want her son to struggle while trying to make it in the biz.

“I would like our baby to inherit Justin’s charm and his sense of humor,” said Biel. “There are many qualities I’d love him to get from Justin. But there’s one thing I don’t want for him. I really don’t want him to be a musician.”

Biel says she is well aware of the hardships that come with a career as a musician.

“I watch what Justin goes through and he is at the top of his game,” Biel said. “He has access to work with any producer and he can actually get songs on the radio. And this is from someone who makes great music — he tours and makes it look very easy. But he’s been working for years and years and years to get to where he is.”

Biel says she has an image of her son struggling as a musician and her, as a mom, trying to help him.

“I just want him to be like an engineer or a doctor, something like that,” she said.

Biel says dad Justin Timberlake is enjoying being on daddy duty while she works on her new show. The actress says her husband doesn’t get to spend as much time with Silas as she does, so he “really relishes” when he gets the chance to play “Mr. Mom.”

While Timberlake may be enjoying his time with Silas, Biel says he will eventually get antsy and want to get back in the studio. The actress says her husband feels that it’s “her turn” to shine, as she has taken off the last couple of years to raise their son.
