I’m a huge fan of Jon Stewart and regularly watch The Daily Show because he’s on it and he knows what he’s talking about. Except he doesn’t always. On the subject of social media, and especially Twitter, he seems clueless.
For the uninitiated amongst you, Twitter is a micro-blogging social network that allows you to update your friends and have conversations using messages of 14o-characters or less. And I can attest that it’s very addictive.
Jon Stewart has a regular feature called, ‘Old Man Stewart Shakes His Fist At _____’, and his victim this time around is Twitter. Jon doesn’t understand it, either how it works or why it even exists.
The segment does make a good point, however, asking why the media and politicians latch on to the latest trend, which is currently Twitter. The answer is obvious, so they at least appear to be living on the same planet as the rest of us.
