Kanye West clearly thinks a lot of himself and his “brand,” hiring expensive lawyers to bring down a cryptocurrency based loosely on his name and image.
Coinye West was one of a new breed of cryptocurrencies to follow in the wake of Bitcoin. At least until Kanye got involved and started threatening legal action.
Kanye managed to scare the people behind Coinye into submission, but some members of the community have vowed to continue fighting on against this overzealous posturing.
Does Kanye really believe Coinye was harming his brand? Or that he was entitled to a percentage of any profits made? Kanye sure knows how to make it hard to like him.
