Wow. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse music video than this. Well, to be fair only about 3 minutes of Marry the Night can actually be classed a music video. The rest is posturing of the highest order.
Lady Gaga loves herself more than anyone else ever will. She has her fans, of course, but they’re the type of fans who move onto the next big thing very quickly. So I can’t see her being around for many more years.
In the video for Marry The Night she’s trying to be some sort of cross between Michael Jackson and Madonna. And she achieves this by trying way, way too hard. The desperation to be noticed seeps from the screen.
Buried deep in there somewhere is a reasonable pop song yearning to be heard. Unfortunately all the other crap gets in the way. Which kind of sums Lady Gaga up: all show and no substance.
