You’ve probably heard about Google Duplex by now, but just in case, this is Google’s new artificial intelligence, and it’s virtually indistinguishable from a real human being.
Using information gleaned from Google Assistant, Duplex will be able to make schedule appointments for you by literally calling businesses on your behalf.
Google Duplex is cool technology, but like all of the best things in life, it can also be used to do evil. Which, in this case, means dumping someone.
This is, of course, a spoof video, but there’s no reason why someone couldn’t use Google Duplex in this way. Still, I guess it beats dumping someone by text.
