Apparently singer Lily Allen announced that she would be giving up music and quitting her label last month. Now weeks later, people are actually starting to think she’s serious.

Why else would she close her Twitter and Myspace accounts and give away her computer?

As a fan of Lily Allen since her queen-of-Myspace days, I find it hard to believe that an artist who has benefited directly from technology would give it up cold-turkey. Aside from a simple cell phone, she has no other technological possessions- even her MacBook was given away!

Even though she has sold millions of records, Lily has often voiced negative opinions about music piracy. In her last blog she stated, “The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned.”
