This clever piece of kit is called a LucidTouch, which is a new breed of see through mobile device technology.

I’m not going to sit here and try to explain the technology, that’s what this YouTube video from the guys at New Scientist is for after all.

This so called ‘pseudo transparency’ is very cool though, as the machine cleverly determines where your hand is and shows a representation on the screen in front of you.

As cool and practical as this prototype is, it does freak me out a bit. It all seems just a bit Sci-fi to me with the robots and machines starting to take over! The Matrix is about to come true… waaaaaah!
