While everyone else in his neighborhood was packing their bags for the “White River Flood” that hit Arkansas last week, one man decided to stick it out and build a moat and dike around his property.

The fact that this plan worked is pretty amazing. It just goes to show you that determination and a simple idea can prevent tragedy.

Sure, this project must have taken a week of man-hours and thousands of dollars to do- but it sure as hell was worth it! Not only did this save a very expensive house from being destroyed, but it’s also one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen.

I can’t wait to see how this same family handles a zombie attack.
