I must admit never having heard of Matisyahu before today. In fact, I wasn’t even aware there was such a thing as American Hasidic Jewish reggae singer. But there is. And this is him.

This video shows Matisyahu performing his new song One Day live in the SIRIUS M Studios. He sings simply yet beautifully, accompanied by a guitarist. And he even throws in some beatboxing.

Matisyahu is an intriguing musician because he blends various styles and genres together.His songs often have traditional Jewish themes yet have reggae, rock, and hip-hop sounds laid over the top.

Matisyahu, real name Matthew Paul Miller, has released three studio albums. One Day comes from his latest, Light. He’s certainly a musician I’ll be keeping an eye out for in the future.
