It’s crunch time for Australian Idol with just three young hopefuls remaining. Anyone could leave the competition tonight, but teen superstar Matt Corby did more than anyone else to escape elimination.

Last night was viewer’s choice night, where the voting public chooses the songs the Idols will sing. Their choice of Evermore’s It’s Too Late, was an inspired one, forcing Matt to step out from his mellow, introspective comfort zone and really perform.

It’s easy to forget that this kid turned seventeen just days before this performance. He shows musical instincts and showmanship beyond his years. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes.
