We have probably all done a smaller, more subtle version of this at some point in our lives. Spinning a coin on a tabletop until it falls over.
However, Euler’s Disc increases the size and weight of the spinning object, and adds a concave mirror to the equation. The results are spectacular.
If you’re anything like me then you won’t have been able to take your eyes off the spinning disc. And your ears get drawn to the rhythmic sound too.
For such a simple trick Euler’s Disc manages to hold your attention extremely well, and I’m pretty sure it could be used to hypnotize people.
