Last week was a crappy week for many of us. Not only did the United States vote in Donald Trump as its next president, Leonard Cohen passed away.
Saturday Night Live took the opportunity to combine these two pieces of bad news, with Kate McKinnon (in her guise as Hillary Clinton) singing Hallelujah.
McKinnon does an amazing job here, and this version of Hallelujah is rather haunting. Maybe because of the circumstances, or maybe because McKinnon sings it from the heart.
Cohen dying was bad news for everyone, but there are, of course, 59 million people who are happy to see Trump destined for the White House. Because they voted for him. Halle-fucking-lujah!
