NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin has broken his back after a nasty crash during the Auto Club 400 on Sunday.
This video shows the crash, which occurred when Hemlin clipped the back of the car in front being driven by former teammate Joey Logano.
The crash, which doesn’t actually look too bad on video, happened on the last lap of the race with both drivers vying for the lead. There doesn’t look to be any blame to lay on either driver, but the two are involved in an ongoing feud.
Hemlin hit the inside wall and suffered an L1 compression fracture. He is expected to be released from hospital today but may need further consultations to ensure there is no lasting damage.
