If the pressure of the penultimate week of Australian Idol was getting to Natalie Gauci, she didn’t show it. Last night Natalie sang her final three performances, the ones that will ultimately decide whether she’ll receive the title of this year’s Aussie Idol.

Here she strips back Timbaland’s latest chart-topper, Apologise. Just as she did with Rihanna’s Umbrella, Natalie takes this piece of disposable pop and creates something vulnerable and moving.

She faces stiff competition from pretty boy Matt Corby, but I think Natalie may just have the edge. While she’s peaked at the right time, many of Matt’s memorable efforts came in the early weeks of the competition.

It’ll be a close verdict next week, but I think Natalie deserves the crown.
