New 4G Provider LightSquared Vs. FCC (Video) | GPS ‘Problems’ A Lobbyist Trick?

24 sec read

Rather than having just a few major providers like Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon, LightSquared is a company that has been planning on having wholesale 4G service for hundreds of clients that make devices.

So, for example, when you buy an iPhone, it will run on Apple wireless internet that is already setup and 50% cheaper than what you pay now. Unfortunately, the FCC is having second thoughts about allowing the company to operate.

Recently, based on studies with GPS interference, the FCC is not allowing LightSquared to operate even though LightSquared has been working on the problem and eliminated the interference with 99% of GPS devices.

Supporters for LightSquared include BestBuy and Sprint.
