It’s the award season, with the Golden Globes and BAFTAs behind us and the Academy Awards still to come. It doesn’t grab the headlines, but recently the dogs were honored for their contributions at the first annual Golden Collar Awards.

Predictably Uggie took out the top honor for his role in The Artist, but as an Aussie I was much more interested in our home hero, Koko. This kelpie upstaged Rachel Taylor and Josh Lucas in the sweet comedy flick, Red Dog.

Of course it’s a long way for an Aussie dog to travel to Hollywood, so in true star style his acceptance speech was shown via satellite. Too cute!
