Losing a child is tragic under any circumstances, including losing one to a horrific car accident. Which is what happened to the Catsouras family when their daughter Nikki took her dad’s Porshce and crashed it at 100 miles per hour.
However, the whole sorry event was made many times worse when pictures of the crash, including Nikki’s mutilated body still in the car were leaked on to the Internet where they spread like wildfire via email and Web sites.
The Nikki Catsouras car crash pictures showed a beautiful young woman decapitated and barely recognizable in graphic detail. Which certainly isn’t something any parent would want to see or anyone else for that matter.
This is the story that refuses to go away. The Catsouras family sued the two officers suspected of leaking the photos online, but the case was dismissed. Now, Newsweek is set to tell the full story once again.
I can’t help thinking that the best way to move forward would be to stop publicizing the existence of the pictures. This video doesn’t help and nor, I must admit, does this post.
