You may not know it yet but the world may be due to end on December 21, 2012. Alternatively, that date could bring order from chaos and a new era of enlightenment. Or it could just be another ordinary day.

Roland Emmerich wants us to believe the first scenario is the most likely, and shows us how the world will cope when the foretelling of a global disaster comes true. His new film is, quite cleverly, titled 2012. Dun, dun, duhhhhn.

This is the official HD trailer for 2012, and it shows what an awesome movie this looks like being. There was me thinking CGI was getting a little dull but 2012 seems to have been so well done it may make me suspend my disbelief once more.

2012 is due out on November 13, which means we all have a month or so to learn the origins of the 2012 phenomenon. As usual, Wikipedia is a good starting point.
