Activision has revealed the next game in the long-running Call of Duty series. And, much to the relief of fans, CoD is revisiting World War II.
The Call of Duty games have, in recent years, veered away from real-world conflicts in favor of futuristic conflicts which have never actually happened. And that hasn’t gone down well.
Call of Duty: WWII takes CoD back to its roots, with a first-person shooter encompassing World War II from the D-Day landings to Germany’s surrender.
Some pundits are calling for Activision to show different stories from the war, but most of the people fighting their way across Europe were young men, so that has to be the focus.
