Everyone in Hollywood seems to have the same idea at the same time. Which is why you often get a rush of movies of one type or genre. Expect lots of Twilight clones to start cropping up soon (it’s already begun on TV).
But this year seems all about amateur superheroes. Kick-Ass is due out next month, but Defendor, starring Woody Harrelson as a crime-fighting average guy, is already out. And this is the trailer.
Woody Harrelson is one of those actors I can take or leave, along with Nicolas Cage and Matthew McConaughey. It’s not that they’re particularly bad actors, but they also don’t exactly excite when they come on screen.
However, Harrelson was brilliant in Zombieland last year, and looks to have continued that trend with Defendor. Maybe he’s one of those actors who gets better with age.
