Despicable Me 2 is due to be released this week as the big animated movie release for the summer of 2013. The trailer sure looks good.
This film is produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures. It seems to have got the mix of humor and believable plot just about right.
The series tells the story of Gru, an evil but incompetent supervillain whose life gets turned around by some cute orphans. Thus there’s a juxtaposition between his menace and his love.
The Minions are arguably more interesting than Gru, which is why they’re getting their own movie in 2014. Still, Despicable Me 2 will do for the time being.
