Pelosi Rickroll Video | House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Becomes Internet Prankster

37 sec read

Earlier this week, American politicians were given a new home on YouTube, with both the House of Representatives and Senate being given channels of their own. A bit boring perhaps, and driving viewers to the channels may be a bit of an effort.

Cue Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, who decided to do something a little different for her first video on the channel. We get to see her cats roaming Capitol Hill before… oh God, she didn’t just Rickroll me. Seriously?

If you’ve never heard of Rickrolling then, well, where the hell have you been for the last year or so? It’s an Internet phenomenon that tricks people into listening to Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. Let’s be fair, you wouldn’t listen to it by choice.

I love the fact that Pelosi has done this because it’s fun and frivolous, and shows that not all politicians are serious all the time. It also shows she’s in touch with what’s popular and how to drive traffic to a Web site. I love her.
