Percy Sledge has passed away at the age of 73, and the world has lost one of the greatest soul voices of all time.
Sledge died after a long battle with liver cancer. He was working right up until last year, but has now died at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
This video shows Sledge singing When a Man Loves a Woman, his big hit from 1966. He then went on to have several more hits throughout the 1960s, but nothing quite as epic as this song.
Percy Sledge was a true star, who rose from nothingness to become a living legend. And although he has now passed away, his legend will live on.
