PlayCafe

Have you ever watched a game show on TV and said to yourself, “Hey! I know that answer!” Do you ever feel like you could do better than those contestants you see on TV?

Well, now you can prove it with NBC’s new online game show Play Cafe.

Play Cafe is the first of it’s kind: an interactive game show that anyone can play from their home computer and win prizes like $2000 cash or a Nintendo Wii. The site was created by Dev Nag and Mark Goldenson; two Stanford alumni who formerly worked for Google and Paypal.

The show is broadcasted live every night at 7pm PT (or 10pm ET) from a studio in Redwood City. Apparently, it’s a big hit in European countries like Norway and the UK where people are reportedly “staying up till 3am” to play the games.

As stated by Goldenson:

“Internet and TV are merging and we think the game show is the best type programming to lead that wave.”
