The Resistance series of video games from Sony have so far appeared on the PS3, but a new one is soon to follow on the PSP (Playstation Portable) handheld. This video shows gameplay from Resistance: Retribution.

The story in Resistance; Retribution takes place between the two PS3 games, Resistance: Fall Of Man and Resistance 2. This sees you play the part of a British Commando as he attempts to destroy every Chimeran conversion center in Europe.

The biggest change from the PS3 games to this one is that it’s now played from a third-person perspective. The two Playstation 3 games are first-person shooter in the style of Doom and Quake, just with much prettier graphics and more intelligent enemies.

As can be seen from the above video, the graphics on the PSP rival those of the PS2, which is pretty amazing for a handheld console you can fit in your pocket. Personally though, I prefer the Nintendo DS.
