Tonight Australian television celebrated its night of nights, the Logies. It may not be as glamorous as the Emmys or Golden Globes, but it’s ours. The night’s biggest winner was Rebecca Gibney who took home the prestigious gold Logie.

Ian Smith may have been the sentimental favorite, but no one could begrudge the overjoyed Packed to the Rafters actress her win.

There was none of the nonchalant poise we see in so many award winners. Instead she reacted with genuine enthusiasm and happiness.

It’s incredible to think that after 25 years in the biz, this is only Rebecca’s second nod. I’m sure if she stays with the exceptional Packed to the Rafters, it won’t be the last.
