Opera’s more likely to be washed down with expensive champagne than Budweiser … unless you’re watching the latest reality TV stars, the Redneck Tenors. Billy Bob, Billy Joe, and Billy Billee surprised everyone when they appeared on America’s Got Talent this week.

Tuxedo jackets dressed up their T-shirts and jeans, but there was no hiding their mullets. Yet, when the trio began a killer rendition of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony their shabby appearances were almost forgotten. Almost.

Word is that these redneck cousins began to sing when they discovered the high notes made their pigs run faster and helped break up bar fights.

Singing on television is a world away from pig farming, but I think it’s a gig these unlikely celebrities will have to get used to.
