Les Paul, the creator of the solid-body electric guitar, has died. He succumbed to pneumonia at the ripe old age of 94.

While he had a good innings, his loss will be felt throughout the music industry. Iconic guitarists including Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, and Slash may not have become household names if not for Les’ iconic axe.

He may have been known for what he made rather than his own music, but it’s nice to see Les showing off his own picking prowess on this clip.

Les will be missed, but his name will live on throughout history through his amazing electric guitars.
