This very funny short film was used to promote ‘Rudebox’ by Robbie Williams, but it’s now taken on it’s own life on sites such as YouTube and MySpace.
This short film is actually 4 minutes in length , but the viral version available on all the video sharing sites is a pared down 2 minute version.
The kid is played by Alfie Fields, and the parents are Steve Furst and Juliet Cowan. Steve has been in ‘Little Britain’ and Juliet is well known for her role in ‘This Life’.
I’d guess there’s some of you reading this that only watched half the film which is a mistake as it’s the ending which makes the whole thing worth it.
If your attention span can’t cope with 2 minutes of conversation then I personally think you should consider going to a doctor.
This short film has actually won a number of awards and has it’s own website.
This is a classic case of a throwaway promo piece which thanks viral marketing has grown in to a cult classic which has gone beyond it’s original purpose to become something in it’s own right.
This yet again goes to show the power of YouTube!
