Boston Dynamics has revealed its latest robot, and this one is capable of opening doors. Unlocked doors, admittedly, but doors nonetheless.
In the video the first robot finds its way blocked, so it calls in reinforcements. And this other robot uses an attachment to open the door and let them both through.
There’s something inherently creepy about the design of these robots. They move in the same way as four-legged animals, but the lack of a face makes them scary.
And now we know that in the future, when the robots have taken over, we won’t simply be able to run and hide behind a door to stop them from killing us.
