Saltwater crocodiles are scary creatures. They can grow up to 20 feet in length, which is longer than my living room, and weigh more than a ton.
And yet these people are swimming with them, albeit with the protection of a perspex casket specially designed for the job. I wouldn’t want to do this, and don’t really understand why anyone else would. Isn’t watching these creatures on TV enough?
The reason saltwater crocodiles are in the news again is because a 25-year-old student from New Jersey was recently killed by one while snorkeling off the coast of India’s Andaman Islands.
As tragic as that is, it’s made even more tragic by the fact that Lauren Failla sister was killed in a rock climbing accident four years ago. So there’s definitely something to be said for being a little conservative in your hobbies.
