I don’t know why this scares me so much but it does. And it’s definitely not PC, but is undoubtedly offensive to some, to say that I worry about the future safety of the world when North Korean kids are this spooky.
Someone has tagged this video as ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’. I can only imagine they were smoking crack at the time, because I fail to see how either of those words can be attached to this clip.
The level of talent at such a young age, the synchronization of the kids all playing in time, the grimaced smiles, and the vacant stares past the camera all freak me the hell out. And it wouldn’t actually matter if these kids were North Korean, South Korean, British, or American, the effect would be the same.
This isn’t North Korea’s Got Talent, but it might as well be. But while the best the West can offer up is Susan Boyle, North Korea has sets of scary children who can handle guitars several times larger than they are. We’re screwed, quite frankly.
