They don’t make telly like they used to do they. In most cases this is a good thing as old TV was mostly crap, but there is the odd classic gem which stands out from the crowd.

This is a clip from Sesame Street in 1977… the year I was born (yes, I really am that old) showing The Beetles singing a song all about the letter B.

Now this is proper children’s television. Funny, entertaining, clever and educational to boot. I much prefer this to all the new wave of shows like Teletubbies and Barney The Dinosaur.

It’s also a great spoof of The Beatles. I’m surprised they got away with the obvious closeness in style and sound to the real Beatles, but I suppose the fact that they are puppets would help.
