Smells Like Teen Spirit Cover Video | Nirvana Song With Ukuleles and Lounge Vocals

22 sec read

Nirvana is one of my favorite bands from my teen years, with their unique riffs and Kurt Cobain’s angst-ridden vocals. I’m all for keeping the band’s memory alive, but this cover of their hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit” from a ukulele orchestra is just plain weird.

Don’t get me wrong, I like ukuleles. And the orchestra does an accurate job of covering the song, albeit with a completely different sound. I guess what really grated at my nerves about this was the god-awful lounge act vocals.

Yes, I know, it’s just a parody. But I’ll take Weird Al’s version over this any day.
