I couldn’t sing to save my life. And that’s despite having good hearing. So this performance by Mandy Harvey, who has been deaf since the age of 18, is absolutely amazing.
It must be more difficult for deaf people to hit the right notes for purely practical reasons. And yet Harvey achieves perfection on America’s Got Talent.
Not only that, but Harvey didn’t opt to sing a classic number everyone knows, but her own original composition. Which is actually pretty good.
Simon Cowell awarded Mandy Harvey the golden buzzer, sending her straight through to the live finals. And, for once, I agree with Simon Cowell’s decision.
