Aston is an Australian classical band with a different. While most groups of their ilk are boning up on Vivaldi and Wagner, this Sydney sextet prefers to take on pop tunes from Rihanna and Kylie Minogue.
Here we see these talented musos putting their unique spin on Rihanna’s latest hit “Rude Boy.”
Honestly I felt this track as an R’n’B tune was fair to middling, almost the result of too many songs released from an album pumped out too fast.
But under the capable hands of Aston, it becomes something else, a soaring and intricate ballad that’s really quite beautiful. I can’t wait to see what surprising tune this Sydney group covers next!
