The Matrix, as in the first film in The Matrix Trilogy, is one of my favorite films of all time. After that the series took a dive and the last film wasn’t very satisfying. But that first one, it still stands up to scrutiny today.

There are some people who have still never seen it, which I just cannot fathom for such an epic piece of visual entertainment. Thankfully this speed run animation exists to help them out.

This video shows The Matrix in just 60 seconds, with all the major plot points revealed in under one minute. Which is pretty amazing work if you ask me.

The animation is superb, being simple but highly watchable. But it’s the paring down of a long film into a short clip that’s most impressive. Whoever story-boarded this deserves recognition.
