I love my eggs in the morning, scrambled with some tomato sauce, poached with some pepper or in an omelette with cheese and onion, and I never once think about where the eggs come from.

However, after seeing this video, in which Jamie Oliver explores the reality of the egg industry, and kills some male chicks as part of a demonstration, maybe I should stick to toast.

The thing is we don’t normally spend any time thinking about where our food comes from, as we buy it from the supermarket ready prepared and all the nastiness is hidden from us.

Although I didn’t enjoy watching this footage, I applaud Jamie Oliver for trying to educate people who may not be aware of the things that go on. Anyone ready to turn vegetarian?
