When I heard that Tesco (the biggest retailer in the UK) had asked the Spice Girls to star in their Christmas ads, I thought how desperate both parties must be,

Are the five members of the Spiceys so short of cash they need to hawk themselves in an advert for a supermarket? And why have Tesco asked an over the hill miming pop group to promote them?

To be fair, the advert has actually turned out quite well, with a bit of humour, a nice set up, and some not too bad acting by Victoria and friends, although I’m not too sure about that walk at the start.

The way it’s shot, so they are all in a Tesco store at the same time, but trying to avoid being seen by the others is brilliant, and Ms. Beckham herself chooses the most ingenious hiding place.

Great advert although it didn’t really get me in the Christmas spirit, and actually doesn’t make me want to go and buy all my presents from Tesco… so maybe a bit of a failure at the end of the day?
